This workshop will provide the attendees with an opportunity to discuss with three veterinary specialists the approaches to treatment of cats and dogs with maxillofacial and head trauma.
The topics that will be covered include:
- initial evaluation of a patient with head trauma,
- emergency airway management and oxygen therapy in patients with severe maxillofacial trauma,
- stabilization and monitoring,
- prevention of secondary brain injury,
- evaluation of CNS injury,
- CT diagnostics in patients with head trauma,
- seizure control,
- diagnostic procedures and treatment options in patients with ocular trauma including the orbit and patients with maxillofacial trauma,
- and selected iatrogenic complications in dentistry patients (corneal erosion, blindness, ocular and tear duct trauma, tracheal rupture, bleeding).
The lecturers want this workshop to be practical and your contribution is important! Please, send us your clinical cases related to the topics listed above (unusual cases, cases you had problems diagnosing or treating, or cases where complications were noticed on the follow-up(s) are expected, but any case is welcomed for discussion). Cases will be presented by the lecturers anonymously.
